Our Interim Rector
Father Alfred Jewson has been selected to lead Transfiguration as our new Interim Rector. Fr. Al will lead our congregation as our priest, pastor, counselor, and teacher while we search for our permanent Rector.
While Fr. Al’s most important task for the next year will be as our priest, he is also here to help Transfiguration through this time of transition: to help us grieve the departure of Father Jason Samuel who was here for almost 18 years; to assist us in evaluating where we are now as a congregation and where we will be. Fr. Al will also assist in furthering the good work already begun here; and to recognize the presence of the Spirit among, with and around us, both as a community of faith and as individual disciples of Jesus Christ.
Most vibrant and growing churches share one thing in common - they have a strong commitment to teaching and reading the Bible. There is a difference between attending the church where a portion of the Bible is read and actually reading the Bible on your own. Understanding how the entire Word of God coheres and what God is saying to you daily through Holy Scripture is a transformational experience. The Bible Challenge encourages readers to go directly to the source of the Christian faith and see how the Bible Coheres.
We invite you to read this article and learn more about the Bible Challenge.
