Laundry Love St. Charles County
Outreach Ministry of Transfiguration & Trinity Episcopal Churches
The idea for Laundry Love began at an Episcopal congregation in Ventura, California and slowly but surely, it’s spreading. Now more than 70 churches, mosques and synagogues around the country have adopted the practice. A ministry that raises money to pay for detergent, dryer sheets and quarters for machines. Laundry Love aims to help people who are struggling financially by partnering with local laundromats to offer free laundry services.
Transfiguration is proud to have joined forces with Trinity Episcopal Church in St. Charles on this wonderful ministry to serve not only the homeless community but also those struggling financially as well. This ministry is designed to do what Jesus was inviting each of us to do, get out into the community, get to know the community, and help our neighbors. AS we all know, unwashed clothes can become a storehouse for parasites, bacteria and viruses. It is for this reason that both congregations have come together for this new ministry to help our communities with Laundry Love.
The Laundry Love Ministry will schedule laundry nights at participating laundry mats. Each congregation will provide two members that will attend each event to assist guests with this ministry. These members will be present to provide any assistance needed, to socialize, spread the word and clean some laundry.
