Meet Rev. Lu-Anne

aljewsonReverend Lu-Anne Conner:

The Rev. Lu-Anne Conner became rector of Church of the Transfiguration on September 1, 2016. She was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Chilton Knudsen of Maine on February 2, 2002. Lu-Anne served as associate rector of St. Elizabeth’s Church in Ridgewood, New Jersey for nine years, and then was rector of St. Andrew’s Church in Newcastle, Maine for five years. She served briefly as transition priest-in-charge for Christ Church in Gardiner, Maine just before coming to Transfiguration.

Lu-Anne has served on Diocesan Councils in the dioceses of Newark and Maine, and has served on diocesan grant-making boards for clergy continuing education, social outreach, and repairs to church properties.

She graduated with a BA in American History from Connecticut College in 1984, and received her Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York City in 2001. Prior to attending seminary she worked in the insurance industry in southern Maine.

Lu-Anne is married to Kate McCormick, who is a retired journalist and active community volunteer. Lu-Anne enjoys playing tennis, walking and gardening. She and Kate look forward to rooting for the Cardinals and the Blues.
