The mission of Shepherd’s Ministry is to coordinate compassionate caring to the Transfiguration community through prayer, action, and encouragement, respecting the dignity and confidentiality of those we serve. Some of the services we will help with are providing meals, making calls, respite care, transportation, resource referral, and grief support.
The Parish has been organized into flocks, each overseen by a Parish liaison, or shepherd. The shepherd is available to each family in the flock when anybody faces a challenging time or crisis. This person is here to listen, pray, perhaps provide a Meal or Transportation. We can also arrange a visit from a Eucharistic Visitor, if you are unable to attend a church service. In addition, we want to share in celebrating the good times in your lives.
This ministry is not intended to take the place of clergy. You may always contact the Priest directly, but you may also call your liaison. Our ministry is to help and comfort. Anything you wish to be held in confidence will not be shared. We hope and pray that your life is free from strife and sorrow, but we are here if you need us, in good times and bad.
If you are interested in serving your fellow parishioners as part of the Shepherds Ministry, please contact Kerry Quinlisk or the church office through the Contact Us form.
